It’s not a full 5/5 rating due to the poor design of the new tester clamp. For instance, it doesn’t support the popular 21700 battery format, which is quite disappointing for a tool specifically designed for battery testing.
It’s unfortunate because just a few extra centimeters in the clamp design would allow it to accommodate 44 standard battery formats, something the SkyRC MC3000 charger achieves effortlessly.
To be fair, it is possible to insert a 21700 battery by removing the two adjustable screws at the back, which extends the tester clamp beyond its original limit (as shown in the photo). However, doing so applies unintended stress to the solder joints, which is not ideal.
On the other hand, the other tester probe is excellent, featuring spring-loaded tips that make measurements very comfortable. The only downside is its short cable, which prevents the probes from being positioned face-to-face horizontally, limiting usability in certain scenarios.
